Manager, Supply Chain

As the Manager, Supply Chain, you will partner closely with Engineering, Operations, suppliers, and contract manufacturers to ensure material availability, cost control, quality, and on-time delivery, while supporting inventory accuracy, customer shipments, and component lifecycle management. You will be responsible for end-to-end supply chain, purchasing, and operational execution to support prototype, NPI, and production activities. As a player-coach, you will be actively involved with operational activities and responsible for building your team as the organization grows.
This position requires onsite work in our Kanata, Ontario office.
What You Will Do
Supply Chain Planning & Procurement
- Consolidate material and shipping requirements into a regularly updated production and build plan.
- Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers, distributors, and contract manufacturers for prototype, NPI, and production materials.
- Request and analyze quotes, determine costs and lead times, negotiate pricing, and identify alternate sources as required.
- Initiate purchase requests, issue purchase orders, and maintain complete PO documentation and tracking.
- Correspond with suppliers on build progress, technical and commercial issues, and issue resolution.
- Monitor material availability, shortages, and lead time risks to ensure delivery commitments are met.
- Develop and maintain key supplier relationships to ensure performance, responsiveness, and best pricing.
Operations, Inventory & Logistics
- Maintain accurate inventory reports for finished goods and component-level inventory.
- Perform incoming inspections to ensure materials meet Cerio quality and specification requirements.
- Generate customer PO acknowledgements, packing lists, waybills, and commercial invoices.
- Coordinate packing and shipment of finished goods, including weight and measurement calculations ensuring they are executed efficiently and with reasonable shipping cost.
- Maintain shipment logs and ensure customs and export documentation compliance.
- Provide RMA support in collaboration with the Customer Support team.
Component & Engineering Support
- Work closely with Engineering to support NPI supply chain requirements.
- Maintain up-to-date supplier environmental and compliance documentation for all Cerio products.
- Maintain the Approved Vendor List and actively monitor component lifecycle status.
- Manage end-of-life component issues and identify form-fit-function alternatives.
Your Ideal Background and Qualifications
- Education in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field; equivalent practical experience may be considered.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, procurement, and operations within a technical, manufacturing, or hardware-based environment.
- Demonstrated experience and success working with suppliers, distributors, and contract manufacturers, including sourcing, quoting, purchase order management, and delivery execution.
- Professional supply chain certification (e.g., SCMP, CSCP, CPIM), considered a strong asset.
- Strong working knowledge of production planning, inventory management, logistics, customs/export documentation, and supplier performance management.
- Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) and collaborating closely with Engineering on BOMs, part lifecycle management, and component sourcing.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, adapt to changing requirements, and resolve supply chain risks proactively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical and commercial information to internal teams and external partners.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across Engineering, Operations, Customer Support, and external partners.
Total Rewards
Cerio offers a comprehensive total rewards package for this position including base salary (range $100,000 - $140,000) and incentive bonus program, health benefits package, and time off programs. The salary range provided represents the expected base salary for this position. The final offer amount may be adjusted slightly higher or lower depending on the selected candidate's relevant skills, qualifications, experience, and certifications, as well as the full total compensation package offered.
