What You Will Do:

Reporting to the Head of the Commercial Division, the Commercial Operations and Implementation Lead plays a key role in supporting the growth of the Commercial Division and the successful deployment of the FC-75, Food Cycle Science’s first commercial-scale food waste recycling system. Operating at the intersection of operations, implementation, and customer success, this role ensures that partner onboarding, installation, and post-launch support are delivered seamlessly and to a high standard of excellence.

Serving as a central liaison between the Sales, Engineering, and Product teams, the position is responsible for coordinating communication, managing timelines, and ensuring that every customer transition, from installation to steady-state operation, is executed efficiently and professionally.

The ideal candidate is organized, adaptable, and customer-focused, with the creativity and emotional intelligence to navigate challenges, build strong relationships, and represent Food Cycle Science with professionalism in both internal and client-facing settings.

Key Responsibilities:

Implementation & Customer Success

  • Lead all aspects of customer onboarding and system implementation, from initial scheduling to post-installation follow-up.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial partners during deployment, ensuring a smooth transition from delivery to full operational status.
  • Provide training and ongoing support to customers, addressing technical or process-related inquiries in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Develop and maintain clear documentation, SOPs, and tracking tools to support consistent implementation practices.

Operations & Process Building

  • Oversee delivery and installation logistics for FC-75 units, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure timely execution.
  • Take ownership of identifying process gaps, designing new workflows, and implementing scalable solutions that improve efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Roll up your sleeves to execute operational improvements - not only coordinating, but actively building and refining systems and tools to enable growth.
  • Manage field issues by triaging, coordinating cross-functional input, and tracking resolutions to completion.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Engineering, and Product teams to gather the information needed to develop and implement new processes and customer solutions.
  • Communicate effectively across departments, ensuring alignment on requirements, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Share customer insights and recurring challenges to inform product improvements and internal process enhancements.

Continuous Improvement & Reporting

  • Monitor project and account performance, providing updates and actionable recommendations to leadership.
  • Contribute to the creation and refinement of internal documentation, templates, and customer-facing materials.
  • Support the transition of stabilized processes or functions to their long-term owners within the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Core Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3–5 years of progressive experience in operations, implementation, customer success, or process improvement, ideally within a technical, hardware, or B2B environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement new systems and processes that improve efficiency and scalability.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively and build credibility across departments.
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, ownership-driven approach.
  • High emotional intelligence, adaptability, and professionalism in both customer-facing and internal settings.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools (e.g., Asana, Monday.com, or similar) and strong command of Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle (required for occasional site visits).
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for site visits, installations, or partner meetings.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment with shifting priorities.

What We Have to Offer You:

  • Central Ottawa office location, minimum of four days per week in the office, subject to change
  • A FoodCycler unit for your own kitchen
  • Competitive base salary
  • Competitive benefits package
  • Group RRSP matching plan
  • Flexible vacation
  • Regular social and team-building get-togethers for all team members
