GameStrat was founded in 2015 by Tunch Akkaya and Elijah Wu. Tunch, while playing football at the University of Ottawa, saw a need where his very own head coach wanted the ability to have in game video replay to be able to make better in-game adjustments and coaching decision. Originally building something for their very own team to gain a competitive advantage, GameStrat quickly grew in popularity and has now become the market leader when it comes to instant replay solutions for coaching and training needs. GameStrat's expertise and technology has extended beyond football, working with hockey and lacrosse teams as well as with various organizations within defense and law enforcement training environments.
Job Responsibilities:

We’re looking for somebody who is passionate about sports that wants to join one of the fastest growing startups in Ottawa. GameStrat has emerged as a blue-chip company in the sports coaching software industry, combining innovative and easy to use technology to help coaches win more games.

We're looking to bring on our first ever full-time marketing team member to help take our company to the next level. The perfect candidate for this role is somebody who ideally has 1-2 years experience working within a SaaS early stage startup, willing to get their hands dirty and build marketing processes and functions from the ground up. This Marketing Coordinator role has plenty of room for growth as GameStrat grows.

Job Responsibilities
  • Own the majority of the growth marketing activities
  • Develop and manage complex, multi-region, multi-product, multi channel marketing campaigns to grow the business, driving leads for the sales team and ultimately helping increase revenue
  • Managing and creating strategy across all social media channels (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn)
  • Brand building and management
  • Managing all stages of content production from planning to publishing
  • Implementing and managing SEO strategies to increase organic web traffic
  • Monitoring the performance and analytics of our content at each stage of the marketing funnel
  • Create a range of different content types such as blogs, emails, ad copy, case studies, social posts etc.
Preferred Qualities:

  • Comfort in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with the ability to create high-quality content that resonates with coaches leveraging technology to gain a competitive advantage
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for flawless execution
  • A genuine interest in helping coaches use and leverage technology in sports
  • Eager to learn and grow with a “do not take no for an answer” mentality
