(Giatec) is looking for a passionate Junior Events Specialist to join our Marketing Team and create a seamless events experience spanning all our digital and physical content and delivery.
The Junior Events Specialist is responsible for assisting in the successful coordination of tradeshows, podcasts, webinars, and other events. This position plans and aids in the successful execution of all events with a high level of detail and works directly with internal teams and vendors with a warm, friendly attitude. The ideal candidate has experience in tradeshow or event coordination.
The work location for this role is in Ottawa, ON. Our preference would be a candidate who can work in a hybrid environment both remotely and in-person.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Coordinate tradeshow booths including event planning, completing event contracts, logistics, and production of collateral.
- Develop, maintain and update event software, databases, and shared documents, including facilitating meetings to ensure all team members have visibility into the planning process and status of events.
- Build and sustain relationships with vendors and service providers and act as primary contact for all events services and requests.
- Research of events, attendees, sponsors, and competitors.
- Develop new promotional materials and campaigns, collateral, branded giveaways, and booth materials as needed.
- Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for team members.
- Organize and submit tradeshow related expenses in a timely manner.
- Podcast outreach including scheduling, research, production, editing, and publishing.
- Maintain events, podcast, and webinar webpages
- Plan and execute Giatec’s Net Zero Construction Conference.
- Other events and marketing tasks as required.
REQUIREMENTS
- One (1) to three (3) years of tradeshow/event planning and/or management experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or certificate in event planning, business, marketing, communications, or a related field.
- Strong written and oral communication abilities.
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Proven time management skills with a high ability to multitask.
- Self-motivated and independent with the ability to take direction and meet tight deadlines.
- Eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
- High competency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook.
- Strong project management skills.
- Availability to travel internationally.
- Proven organizational skills.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud is an asset.
- Experience with database management and Power BI is an asset.
