H2 Analytics is a mission-focused technology company redefining how intelligence specialists train and modernize. We partner with military, national security, law enforcement, and other mission-driven organizations to improve readiness at speed and scale. Our team includes former intelligence professionals who have lived the problems we’re solving. We move fast, have ambitious goals, and are driven by a strong sense of purpose.
The pain point you can help us solve
Mission-driven organizations struggle to deliver realistic training and modernize analytic workflows. Building tailored and credible scenarios with notional intelligence content is still a heavily manual and time-consuming effort that often requires pulling experienced personnel away from real operations. The result is a wide and persistent gap between the speed, scale, and realism teams need and what they actually have.
Our flagship platform, EASE, makes it simple to create synthetic intelligence environments for training and experimentation. But software alone isn’t the finish line: many clients need a partner to help shape realistic scenarios, integrate EASE into existing processes, and drive adoption in a way that realizes its full value.
What we’re looking for
We’re building a team of specialists who combine deep experience with the ability to turn that insight into practical solutions for our partners.
As Lead Specialist, you will sit at the intersection of delivery and product for intelligence training and modernization. You’ll own complex client outcomes with a high degree of autonomy, serve as the primary point of contact for client leads on your programs, shape how we design and deliver exercises or solutions, and translate field experience into reusable improvements. Reporting to the Vice President, you will serve as a trusted client partner, design and build synthetic intelligence environments, support adoption and change enablement, and bring operational insight back to our product team.
You’ll thrive here if you’re deeply motivated by a sense of mission. We work with teams doing high-stakes jobs, and we take that responsibility seriously. We look for good judgment, initiative, and creativity. We like solving hard problems with simple, elegant approaches, and we value people who bring new angles without ego. If you’re excited by high standards, real responsibility, and building alongside users, you will feel right at home.
Prerequisites:
10+ years of relevant experience in defence, national security, or public safety environments, to include:
Experience owning complex investigations and/or intelligence cycles end-to-end, operating with high autonomy in ambiguous environments.
Experience acting as the primary point of contact for client leads, shaping scope, managing difficult conversations, and steering engagements through ambiguity.
Advanced analytic or operational craft, including the ability to design approaches to non-routine problems rather than simply execute established processes.
Proven ability to synthesize complex inputs (e.g., technical or tactical data) into decision-ready outputs for senior stakeholders.
Experience reviewing others’ work, mentoring peers, and maintaining a high standard of craft across deliverables.
Eligible to obtain (or hold) a Government of Canada Level III (Top Secret) security clearance.
Willingness to travel.
Core skills:
Ability to act as a trusted point of contact for client leads, shape expectations, and navigate difficult conversations in high-trust environments.
Ability to build buy-in for new tools and workflows, address resistance constructively, and guide adoption to sustained impact.
Ability to take unclear problems from concept to implementation with limited oversight, making sound trade-offs between client needs and product constraints.
Ability to manage scope, effort, and risk in real client engagements, proactively identifying issues early and protecting both client outcomes and H2A’s reputation.
Ability to capture field lessons and translate them into reusable playbooks, templates, or product feedback that improves future delivery.
Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to synthesize complex inputs into clear briefs and translate between operators and technical teams.
Comfortable working with software tools, structured data, and technical teams (engineering depth not required).
Nice to have:
Experience in specific domains such as HUMINT, SIGINT, GEOINT, National Security investigations. Other domains welcome.
Experience with relevant intelligence and C4ISR tools such as i2 Analyst's Notebook, Palantir, SitaWare.
Experience working with, experimenting, or simulating structured/unstructured data, integrating sources, or translating unstructured inputs into usable information.
Live in or be willing to relocate to Ottawa. Other locations will be considered.
