What would you do? As a Pre-Sales Solutions Architect, you will play a pivotal role in supporting revenue-generating activities by completing assessments, designing solutions, and scoping levels of effort in support of Opti9's sales team. This is predominantly a pre-sales position that requires strong AWS expertise, strategic thinking, and excellent communication skills to collaborate with customers, internal teams, and external partners.
What are the details?
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure success in building and migrating customer applications, infrastructure, software, and services to AWS
- Design scalable, resilient, and cost-optimized environments on AWS, tailored to customer needs
- Completing pre-sales AWS assessments (AWS Transform, MAP, OLA, MVA, AMA, etc.)
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful deployment and implementation of AWS solutions
- Educate customers on the value of Opti9’s services, lead complex architectural discussions, and advocate for AWS adoption
- Conduct workshops and knowledge transfer sessions to help customers understand the business value of public cloud services
- Develop deep relationships with senior technical stakeholders within customer organizations to promote best practices and cloud advocacy
- Build proposals and SOWs for sales team and present them to customers
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends, cloud technologies, and AWS advancements
- Recommend innovative solutions to simplify deployments, enhance performance, and optimize costs
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes, tools, and methodologies related to AWS service delivery
- Design compliant and secure cloud solutions aligned with industry standards and customer requirements
- Ensure that all solutions meet or exceed security and compliance benchmarks
- Work closely with sales, engineering, and delivery teams to ensure alignment of project goals and customer expectations
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the development of the public cloud services team’s capabilities
Required Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience as a Solutions Architect at AWS, at an AWS partner, or both.
- Extensive knowledge of AWS services, tools, and best practices. Including AWS's GenAI and/or Agentic AI services (e.g., Amazon Bedrock, Amazon Sagemaker, AgentCore, Kiro, AWS Transform, etc.)
- AWS Technical Certification(s) (Associate, Professional, or Specialty)
- Strong understanding of AWS AI, security, compliance, and governance frameworks
- Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts in a clear and business-focused manner
- Ability to lead discussions and influence technical and business stakeholders
- Hands-on experience with designing and implementing complex cloud-based solutions on AWS
- Familiarity with DevOps/DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation or CDK is a plus
- Occasional travel to AWS or customer sites as required to support sales efforts and solution deployments
- 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing complex solutions on AWS
- Experience with multi-cloud environments (e.g., Azure, GCP)
- Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
- Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation, Terraform or CDK)
- Strong understanding of AWS services supporting DevOps/DevSecOps, networking and hybrid cloud solutions
- Proficiency in programming languages like Python or TypeScript
