Production Manager (Software & Hardware Operations)

The Production Manager is accountable for orchestrating the end-to-end build, configuration, and delivery workflow for JSI products, ensuring high-quality output, operational efficiency, and a consistent customer experience. This role sits at the intersection of manufacturing operations, supply chain, production planning, and cross-functional collaboration with Sales, Finance, Engineering, and Customer Success.
Success in this role requires strong operational leadership, technical understanding of software-enabled hardware products, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to proactively remove bottlenecks and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Workflow Management
- Oversee the full lifecycle of system builds, from order intake to final shipment.
- Work with Sales Managers to validate proposed delivery timelines.
- Review customer quotes and sales orders for accuracy.
- Validate all customer POs prior to ERP entry.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor performance, identify issues, implement corrective actions.
- Maintain high standards of quality and consistency.
Supply Chain & Vendor Management
- Work with Purchasing on vendor performance and cost structures.
- Forecast hardware/software requirements.
- Develop and administer supplier agreements.
Logistics & Order Fulfillment
- Coordinate domestic and international shipments.
- Support site installation planning.
Data, Systems & Financial Stewardship
- Maintain Sales Order Catalog.
- Use ERP tools to manage workflows and inventory.
Leadership & People Management
- Provide coaching, expectations, feedback, and development.
- Lead staffing, onboarding, scheduling, and safety programs.

Preferred Qualifications
- 5+ years production/operations/manufacturing experience in a tech environment. ERP/MRP system experience.
- Supply chain/vendor management experience.
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement knowledge.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
How We Work
You will be expected to work in a remote/hybrid environment reporting to our Kanata, Ontario location 2 or more times per week.
