Facilities Manager

The Facilities Manager is responsible for supporting the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of JSI’s two Kanata locations. This role ensures that facilities are well maintained, compliant with safety standards, and responsive to the needs of employees and visitors. Working closely with internal teams and external vendors, the Facilities Manager plays a key role in creating a productive and welcoming workplace environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of both facilities to identify maintenance, safety, and operational needs.
- Coordinate and oversee repairs, cleaning, and preventive maintenance with external vendors and contractors, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, construction, landscaping, and snow removal and cleaning services.
- Respond promptly to facility-related service requests and emergencies, updating service tickets and documentation as required.
- Monitor HVAC, lighting, and other building systems to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Maintain inventory of building supplies, equipment, and furniture for both locations.
- Support office moves, furniture installations, and workspace reconfigurations.
- Provide facilities support for company events and special projects as required.
- Assist with building access control, security systems, and visitor management.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and security standards, policies, and procedures.
- Prepare and maintain reports related to facility status, incidents, inspections, and completed work.
Required Qualifications
- Previous experience in facilities management, building maintenance, or a related field.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be eligible to obtain and maintain up to top secret security clearance.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation, with the ability to travel between both locations as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Working knowledge of building systems such as HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
- Experience coordinating and supervising external vendors and service providers.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 25 lbs.
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, and performing manual tasks for extended periods.
Work Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required to respond to emergencies or support special projects.
