KnowledgeNow is a fast-growing eLearning company with a vision to empower transformative personal learning through innovative technology, education, and support. We are currently looking for an experienced Instructional Designer to join our team on a full-time basis.

Salary range - $65k - $85k depending on education and experience

THE OPPORTUNITY

For this position, you will be accountable for working with our corporate and educational project teams and executing work that delivers on strategy, timelines, and budget. You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of high-quality, highly imaginative work while following the highest of industry-led quality assurance procedures. Here’s some of what you’ll be doing every day:

• Provide instructional design expertise to subject matter experts (SME) of higher education institutes, businesses, and government organizations regarding online course development.
• Design and develop instructional strategies to promote learner engagement.
• Write all instructional content from source material provided by the SME, using KnowledgeNow's design processes and tools.
• Ensure online course content is of high quality in compliance with the criteria of the Quality Matters Higher Education Rubric and accessibility standards.
• Develop a course design which reflects a commitment to accessibility and usability, so that all learners can easily navigate and interact with all course components.
• Participate as a project team member and collaborate with subject matter experts, project managers, media specialists, and technical support.
• Complete course development for quality review by the deadline provided.
• Create engaging learning activities and compelling course content.
• Analyze and apply trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design.
• Create exercises and activities that enhance the learning process.
• Devise knowledge checks, such as tests or quizzes, to measure the effectiveness of the course.

For primary consideration, you must bring the following skills and attributes:

• Masters Degree in education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 3 years experience designing, developing, and implementing interactive e-learning programs or courseware.
• Comfortable working remotely.
• Experience leading and managing multiple projects at a time.
• Positive energy and attitude that contribute to excellence in project work and relationships.
• Be open and responsive to feedback from our team and our clients.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to go above and beyond when needed.
• Proficiency with Microsoft suite is required.

The following would be considered an asset:

• Experience designing for higher education.
• Experience with Articulate 360 or other course authoring tools.
• Experience with various LMS, including Brightspace and Moodle.
• Fluently bilingual in English and French.
