Summary
The Director of Finance is a strategic leadership position where the focus is on motivation of a broad or highly specialized group, with significant impact on business direction and success. The Director of Finance is responsible for the financial health of the company. By combining strategic and operational goals, the Director of Finance manages the accounting and economic aspects of a company by enforcing a financial strategy aimed toward profitable long-term growth. Additional duties include overseeing the finance department, conducting financial assessments, generating reports, establishing company budgets and conduct risk assessments on business initiatives.
What you do
• Manage the Finance Department. Train, mentor, set targets for and supervise all accounting and finance personnel.
• Manage the financial planning of the company by analyzing its performance and risks, coordinating the annual budget and quarterly financial forecast process.
• Retain constant awareness of the company’s financial position and act to prevent problems and advise senior management on emerging opportunities or risks.
• Set up and oversee the company’s finance systems, evaluate and implement improvements to financial reporting systems and procedures.
• Prepare financial statements, management reports, and cost-benefit analyses, interpreting data and communicating results, issues and opportunities to senior leadership and Board of Directors.
• Oversee all audit and internal control operations.
• Manage cashflow and working capital and highlight cash requirements and funding options.
• Manage relationships with financial partners and investors.
• Manage share capital management, tracking and reporting.

What you need
•Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business, or related field
•Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation required
•Previous experience as a Director of Finance or Controller in a manufacturing company
•Experience preparing multi-currency consolidated financial statements
•Excellent accounting software user with experience in creating management reports
•Exceptional knowledge of finance, accounting, cost accounting and cost control principles, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
•In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices
•Experience with SR&ED filings
•Able to analyze financial records and interpret for other departments
•Have an analytical mind with a strategic ability
•Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
•Asset:
o Proficiency with accounting software and experience with software system implementation
o Familiarity with Intuitive and Salesforce systems

How you'll be rewarded
Salary Range: $115,000 – $145,000+ (commensurate with experience)
