About the role
At Rewind, we provide industry-leading backup and recovery solutions for businesses operating in the Atlassian, GitHub, Shopify, and monday.com ecosystems. Our mission is to ensure companies can secure, restore, and recover their critical SaaS data with ease and confidence.
As a Sales Engineer, you’ll be the trusted technical advisor to our Commercial Sales Team and prospective customers. You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping pre-sales conversations, leading technical discovery, guiding customer testing and ensuring our solutions map seamlessly to customer needs. This position carries more autonomy: you’ll own proof of concepts and act as the bridge between technical depth and business value.
What you’ll do
Technical discovery & solutioning
Lead technical discovery sessions with prospective customers to deeply understand business challenges and map Rewind’s solutions.
Translate complex requirements into tailored technical proposals and solution architectures.
Address objections and provide clear guidance on integrations, security, and scalability.
Product demonstrations & proof of concept
Deliver compelling, customized product demos that showcase Rewind’s platform value.
Own and manage proof of concepts (PoCs) end-to-end, guiding prospects through evaluation and ensuring technical success.
Provide technical expertise to accelerate deal cycles and remove friction.
Be an expert in our competitors offering and clearly articulate the value of Rewind
Collaboration & enablement
Partner closely with Account Executives to design winning deal strategies.
Enable and mentor teammates on technical aspects of Rewind’s platform.
Share field insights with Product, Customer Success, and Engineering to help refine product direction.
Customer trust & advocacy
Act as a subject matter expert in backup, recovery, and SaaS data protection.
Build lasting trust with technical stakeholders, serving as the bridge between their needs and Rewind’s capabilities.
Advocate for customer interests internally while balancing business objectives.
Attend industry events, conferences and participate in customer/partner onsites. Acting as the technical expert on show floors, during large team calls and on stage
What you’ll bring
3+ years of experience in a pre-sales engineering, solutions engineering, or technical sales role.
Strong technical acumen with the ability to quickly learn new platforms and explain them clearly.
Experience with SaaS applications and APIs; familiarity with Atlassian, GitHub, Shopify, or Monday.com is a strong advantage.
Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and common SaaS architectures.
Understanding of data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions.
Excellent presentation and communication skills — able to translate technical details into compelling business outcomes.
A proactive, curious mindset with a track record of innovation and problem solving.
Comfort collaborating cross-functionally in a fast-paced, customer-centric environment.
Nice to have
Hands-on experience building integrations using APIs or scripting.
Familiarity with enterprise security and compliance requirements.
Previous experience supporting mid-market or enterprise customers.
Exposure to SaaS data protection, DevOps, or IT operations tools.
Location and working hours
This role is hybrid, with flexibility to work from home and in-office in Toronto. We work across North American time zones, and occasional travel to customer/partner sites or industry events is required.
