About the role
As a Claims Advisor at RVezy, you will manage and resolve insurance claims arising from RV rentals. Your role involves assessing damage, communicating with renters and owners, and collaborating with insurance providers to ensure efficient claim processing. You'll maintain accurate documentation and provide exceptional customer service, supporting clients through the claims process. Your proactive approach will help enhance the efficiency and satisfaction of our claims handling, contributing to RVezy’s reputation for excellence in the RV rental market. This is a new position that has been opened to support our growth.
Key responsibilities:
- Investigate, evaluate, and resolve claims in a timely and accurate manner.
- Act as the main point of contact for claimants throughout the claims process, maintaining open and effective communication.
- Assess and investigate claim documentation, including rental agreements, damage reports, and photographic evidence, to determine liability and claim validity.
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and service providers, ensuring fair and reasonable outcomes.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all claims activities in the company’s claims management system.
- Provide guidance and support on claims coverage, processes, and next steps, leveraging general knowledge of the claims procedures.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the claims process and customer service standards.
- Exercise autonomy for claim resolutions and payment processing.
- Actively participate in claims and customer service standup meetings.
- Monitor the Slack channel for communication needed for personal claims.
- Demonstrate a general interest in the product, providing feedback on ways to improve.
Qualifications:
Competencies, skills, and attributes:
- Bilingualism: You must be comfortable speaking English and French, and helping our customers in both languages.
- Strong Communication Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with customers effectively across phone, email, and live chat.
- Problem-Solving Abilities: Analytical mindset with a knack for identifying issues, proposing solutions, and escalating when necessary.
- Conflict Resolution: Confident and assertive on the phone when addressing upset customers or handling disagreements, including situations where a claim has been denied, while maintaining professionalism and empathy.
- Customer-Centric Mindset: A genuine passion for delivering excellent customer experiences and 2-3 years of customer service experience, resolving concerns with empathy and professionalism
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and adapting to new tools, processes, and challenges and team dynamics.
- Team Collaboration: Able to work effectively with team members and contribute to a supportive, team-oriented work culture.
- Collaborative and Engaged: Brings energy, integrity, and enthusiasm to the team, approaching work with a strong sense of purpose and a positive outlook. Contributes to a supportive, mission-driven environment, all with a touch of humour.

- Curiosity and Willingness to Learn: Excited to gain hands-on experience in a startup environment and open to feedback for personal and professional development.
Bonus points if you:
- Have experience in insurance claims handling.
- Are an outdoor enthusiast.
- Have experience or are interested in working at a startup.
- Speak Spanish.
- Have experience using a CRM or other communication platforms such as Zendesk.
Location
The role will require you to work from our office in Centretown 3-5 days per week (different depending on the time of year).
Start date
We’re looking for someone to join us in the new year - ideally starting Jan 5, 2026.
