About the role
The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and efficiency of the engineering infrastructure. This role involves leading the design and implementation of CI/CD pipelines, automation frameworks, and infrastructure management, with a focus on optimizing deployment and operational processes.
This is an existing role.
Key responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and scale cloud infrastructure using tools like AWS, Terraform, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to improve deployment speed, reliability, and developer workflows.
- Automate infrastructure and operational processes using infrastructure as code and scripting.
- Implement monitoring and alerting systems to proactively manage system health and reliability.
- Lead initiatives to improve platform stability, incident response, and system performance.
- Partner with engineering teams to improve developer experience, tooling, and release processes.
- Maintain security best practices across infrastructure and deployment pipelines.
- Collaborate cross-functionally and mentor engineers on DevOps best practices and tooling.
- Be available to be on-call and respond to production incidents, outages, and critical infrastructure issues as needed.
Qualifications:
Competencies, skills, and attributes:
- 5+ years of experience in DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure engineering.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Datadog.
- Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and systems thinking skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills with a developer-first mindset.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment and take ownership of initiatives.
Bonus points if you:
- Have experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices.
- Have worked in a high-growth SaaS or marketplace environment.
- Have experience with GitOps workflows or platform engineering initiatives.
- Have experience with security, compliance, or vulnerability management practices.
- Hold cloud or Kubernetes certifications.
Location
The role will require you to work from our office in Centretown 2-3 days per week.
